Kodaikanal can be more than a tourist spot — it can be a leader in co-existence and sustainable tourism. We have a clear pathway to make this possible, if we act together now!
Jhatkaa.org partners up with Sky Islands
Sky Islands is proud to become a petitioning partner with Jhatkaa.org through a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a relationship whereby both the parties will campaign to protect the ecologically sensitive Western Ghats and provide community members in the region with ways to contribute to conservation of the region.
Jhatkaa.org and Sky Islands aim to work together with an aim towards conserving the ecology and biodiversity along the Western Ghats. Both organisations aim to help communities contribute to voice their concerns about the pressure being put on the ecologically fragile region due to increasing human activities.
Jhatkaa.org is a digital campaigning organisation with more than a decade of experience in empowering citizens to take on action on various issues of importance to us all, with a core focus on environment and ecology driven initiatives. As a petition partner, Sky Islands will be able to rely on the relevant tools, methodologies and resources that Jhatkaa.org has developed through the years with a common goal of solving important problems.

Support Sky Islands at Our Concert For A Cause
*Update: We are happy to announce that, due to the generous contribution of a few Friends of Sky Islands we now able to offer the last few donor passes at subsidized rates.
You may be aware of the changes that threaten the Western Ghats, which faces significant challenges today. Its people, flora, and fauna are often in conflict, and the fate of its inhabitants—humans, plants, and wildlife—has far-reaching consequences for us all. Sky Islands is a pioneering platform which connects communities across the Western Ghats through engagement, action, and storytelling.
As a catalyst for social impact, fostering awareness and meaningful change—starting from Kodaikanal, where it has been piloted hyper-locally as The Kodai Chronicle since 2021, and extending far beyond—Sky Islands thinks both locally and big picture.
In order to raise funds to help our young non-profit initiative, we are holding (for the first time in the Palani Hills since 1989!) a ‘concert for a cause’ in the hill station of Kodaikanal. Donor passes begin at Rs 4999.
